The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Lawrence County Red Devils (Moulton, AL) and the visiting Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN), observed Lawrence County's softball team get by Independence by a tally of 8-5.

The Red Devils (20-4) will now prepare for their contest against Springville (Springville, AL). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 14-4 record. In their last contest, Springville nudged Hokes Bluff (Hokes Bluff, AL), 5-3, in a non-league contest.

The Eagles now hold a 13-10 record. They play next when they travel to Meade County for a non-league contest on Saturday, April 4. Independence will face a Green Waves squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Huntsville (Huntsville, AL). The Green Waves record now stands at 5-3.
