In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Nelson County Governors softball team scored a nice 11-1 win over the Parry McCluer Fighting Blues.

The Governors (3-9) will now prepare for their match against Chatham (Chatham, VA). The Cavaliers come into the Dogwood match with a 5-7 record. In their last match, Chatham notched a victory over Altavista (Altavista, VA), 6-5, in a league match.
