April 4, 2025: Boone, IA 50036 Newton Cardinals (Newton, IA) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Boone Toreadors (Boone, IA), 3-1 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Newton advances its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Pella Christian (Pella, IA) to clash with the Eagles in a Little Hawkeye test on Tuesday, April 8. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 2-0.
The Toreadors now have a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Greene County for a non-league test on Tuesday, April 8. Boone will clash with a Rams team coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Exira-EHK (Elk Horn, IA). The Rams record now stands at 0-4.
