Connecticut High School Softball - Gilbert bounces East Granby
April 5, 2022: East Granby, CT 06026 Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host East Granby Crusaders (East Granby, CT), 11-7 in a non-league challenge.
The Yellowjackets now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Thomaston for a Berkshire challenge on Wednesday, April 6. Gilbert will face a Bears squad coming off a 20-4 non-league win over Housatonic-Wamogo (Falls Village, CT). The Bears record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, East Granby falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Ellington (Ellington, CT) to face the Knights in a North Central Connecticut challenge on Thursday, April 7. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Ellington won 18-3 in their recent league challenge against Suffield (West Suffield, CT)
