April 5, 2024: Siler City, NC 27344 In Friday's non-league battle, the visiting Research Triangle Raptors soccer squad scored a good 9-0 triumph over the Chatham Charter Knights.
The Raptors (2-4) will now prepare for their battle against East Wake Academy (Zebulon, NC). The Eagles come into the Super Six 1A/2A battle with a 5-1 record. In their last battle, East Wake Academy thwarted Raleigh Charter (Raleigh, NC), 2-1, in a league battle.
The Knights (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Southern Wake Academy (Holly Springs, NC). The Lions come into the Central Tar Heel 1A battle with a 0-5 record. In their last battle, Southern Wake Academy was overwhelmed by Thales Academy Apex (Apex, NC), 13-0, in a non-league battle.
Match Summary
It was a total team effort on both sides of the ball. Natalia Stephens led the way with 2 goals and 3 assists. Amina Hasan and Addison Parker set the tone early in the first half with 2 goals each. Ashley Portillo also hit the back of the net for her first career goal.
