In Saturday's non-league test, the Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) baseball team routed the host Vicksburg Gators (Vicksburg, MS), by a count of 19-5.

The Wildcats now own a 7-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northwest Rankin for a 7A Region 3 test on Tuesday, April 8. Meridian will clash with a Cougars team coming off a 9-4 non-league win over Warren Central (Vicksburg, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 10-12.

With the defeat, Vicksburg drops to 7-16 on the year. The Gators travel to Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, MS) to clash with the Rockets in a 6A Region 2 test on Tuesday, April 8. The Rockets go into the test with a record of 11-8.
