Illinois High School Softball - Heyworth bounces Cerro Gordo/Bement
April 6, 2023: Cerro Gordo, IL 61818 The Heyworth Hornets routed the host Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos softball squad by a count of 23-0 in Thursday's non-league battle.
The Hornets (4-0) will now prepare for their battle against LeRoy (LeRoy, IL). The Panthers go into the Heart of Illinois battle with a 12-1 record. In their last battle, LeRoy topped Hoopeston (Hoopeston, IL), 9-4, in a non-league battle.
The Broncos now sport a 0-5 record. They play next when they host Argenta-Oreana for a Lincoln Prairie battle on Friday, April 7. Cerro Gordo/Bement will meet a Bombers squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Heritage (Broadlands, IL). The Bombers record now stands at 2-4.
