The Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL) softball routed the visiting Tri-Valley Vikings (Downs, IL), 8-1 in Tuesday's non-league outing.

The Sages now sport a 10-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tolono Unity for a Illini Prairie outing on Thursday, April 9. Monticello will encounter a Rockets team coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Normal Community (Normal, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Tri-Valley moves to 4-3 on the season. The Vikings travel to Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL) to encounter the Knights in a Heart of Illinois outing on Wednesday, April 8.
