April 8, 2024: Newark, NJ 07105 The crowd at Monday's league bout between the Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ) and the host East Side Red Raiders (Newark, NJ), saw Payne Tech's volleyball squad nip East Side by a tally of 2-1.
With the win, Payne Tech upgrades its record to 1-2 on the year. The Lions host West Orange (West Orange, NJ) to play the Mountaineers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, April 10. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a record of 3-1. West Orange won 2-1 in their recent league bout against Barringer (Newark, NJ)
The Red Raiders now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Livingston for a SEC - American bout on Wednesday, April 10. East Side will play a Lancers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Scotch Plains-Fanwood (Scotch Plains, NJ). The Lancers record now stands at 4-1.
