Falls Lake Firebirds (Creedmoor, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Jones Trojans (Trenton, NC), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Firebirds now sport a 15-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roxboro Community for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 13. Falls Lake will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Pender (Burgaw, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, Jones falls to 6-15 on the campaign.
