Cathedral Fighting Irish (Indianapolis, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting East Central Trojans (St. Leon, IN), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting Irish now own a 22-3 record. They take the field next when they host Indianapolis Scecina Memorial for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 13. Cathedral will battle a Crusaders squad coming off a 18-5 non-league win over Warren Central (Indianapolis, IN). The Crusaders record now stands at 7-8.

With the loss, East Central falls to 13-9 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Greensburg (Greensburg, IN) to battle the Pirates in a Eastern Indiana challenge on Monday, May 13. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 15-4. Greensburg won 4-1 in their recent league challenge against South Dearborn (Aurora, IN)
