New York High School Softball - Herkimer bounces Mt. Markham
May 11, 2024: Herkimer, NY 13350 Herkimer Magicians (Herkimer, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mt. Markham Mustangs (West Winfield, NY), 11-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Magicians now own a 11-3 record. They take the field next when they host Sherburne-Earlville for a Section 3 Center State I challenge on Monday, May 13. Herkimer will face a Marauders squad coming off a 6-6 league Adirondack (Boonville, NY). The Marauders record now stands at 7-1.
With the loss, Mt. Markham falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Sauquoit Valley (Sauquoit, NY) to face the Indians in a Section 3 Center State II challenge on Monday, May 13. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 2-8. Sauquoit Valley lost 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Frankfort-Schuyler (Frankfort, NY)
