Colorado High School Baseball - Northridge loses to Niwot
May 12, 2021: Greeley, CO 80634 The Niwot Cougars baseball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Northridge Grizzlies to 5 in the Cougars league victory on Wednesday.
The Cougars (1-3) will now prepare for their match against Mountain View (Loveland, CO). The Mountain Lions go into the 4A/3A Longs Peak match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, Mountain View edged Fort Morgan (Fort Morgan, CO), 8-6, in a non-league match.
The Grizzlies (1-2) will now prepare for their match against Severance (Severance, CO). The Silver Knights go into the 4A/3A Longs Peak match with a 2-1 record. In their last match, Severance by Berthoud (Berthoud, CO), 13-2, in a league match.
Game Summary
Northridge falls to 1-2 on the season and lose their league opener. Parker Steckel takes the loss on the mound throwing 5 2/3 innings with all 8 runs charged to him. The Grizzlies only get 7 hits in the game and they are lead by Jace Reid as he goes 2 for 4. Nick Garland had a double and a RBI, Justus Alcala 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a RBI and 2 stolen bases and Colin Gilley had a sac-fly to center for a RBI. The Grizzlies return to action tomorrow 5/13 in a league road game at Severance with a 4:00pm first pitch.
