Abington Heights Comets (Clarks Summit, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Minersville Battlin' Miners (Minersville, PA), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 14-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Loyalsock Township for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 14. Abington Heights will battle a Lancers squad coming off a 7-3 league loss to Lewisburg (Lewisburg, PA). The Lancers record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Minersville falls to 8-10 on the campaign.
