South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Cox Mill Chargers (Concord, NC), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Sabres face the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, May 16. South Mecklenburg will attempt to better on its 12-4 season record. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a 16-2 record after their 9-0 non-league win over Ragsdale (Jamestown, NC).

The Chargers now have a 14-6 record.
