Steele Comets (Amherst, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Highland Hornets (Medina, OH), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 19-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brunswick for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 15. Steele will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 6-3 league loss to Mentor (Mentor, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 21-5.

With the loss, Highland falls to 10-5 on the campaign. The Hornets host Cuyahoga Falls (Cuyahoga Falls, OH) to face the Black Tigers in a Suburban - American challenge on Tuesday, May 14.
