In Monday's non-league outing, the visiting Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets softball team scored a close 6-3 win over the Olentangy Orange Pioneers.

The Yellowjackets now own a 21-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Watkins Memorial for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 19. Mt. Vernon will face a Warriors squad coming off a 4-2 league loss to Johnstown-Monroe (Johnstown, OH). The Warriors record now stands at 25-1.
