Manchester Squires (North Manchester, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Northfield Norsemen (Wabash, IN), 8-5 in a league challenge.

The Squires now own a 12-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Whitko for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 20. Manchester will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 17-2 non-league loss to Norwell (Ossian, IN). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-15.

With the loss, Northfield falls to 3-15 on the campaign. The Norsemen travel to Oak Hill (Converse, IN) to battle the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 17. The Golden Eagles go into the match with a record of 19-6. Oak Hill lost 12-0 in their recent non-league match against Western (Russiaville, IN)
