May 16, 2025: Deer River, MN 56636 In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Pine River-Backus Tigers softball team scored a tight 10-7 victory over the Deer River Warriors.
The Tigers (11-9) will now prepare for their match against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (Walker, MN). The Wolves go into the Upper Mississippi match with a 3-10 record. In their last match, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley was routed by Lake of the Woods (Baudette, MN), 20-10, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Warriors battle the Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] Huskies (Isle, MN) in a non-league match, on Monday, May 19. Deer River will attempt to better on its 0-11 season record. The Huskies go into the match with a 11-10 record after their 35-7 non-league win over Crosby-Ironton (Crosby, MN).
