The Mattawan Wildcats (Mattawan, MI) baseball trounced the visiting Chippewa Valley Big Reds (Clinton Township, MI), 17-2 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 24-4 record. They take the field next when they host Lakeland for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 17. Mattawan will clash with a Eagles team coming off a 13-2 league win over Mott (Waterford, MI). The Eagles record now stands at 20-7.

With the defeat, Chippewa Valley drops to 16-12 on the year. The Big reds travel to Bay City Western (Auburn, MI) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 17. The Warriors go into the challenge with a record of 15-3. Bay City Western won 5-1 in their recent league challenge against Central (Bay City, MI)
