Indiana High School Softball - Bremen bounces Knox
May 18, 2022: Bremen, IN 46506 Bremen Lions (Bremen, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Knox Redskins (Knox, IN), 10-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Lions now own a 14-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Noble for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 19. Bremen will battle a Knights squad coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (Fort Wayne, IN). The Knights record now stands at 10-12.
With the loss, Knox falls to 9-13 on the campaign. The Redskins travel to Morgan Township (Valparaiso, IN) to battle the Cherokees in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 20. The Cherokees enter the challenge with a record of 11-6. Morgan Township won 4-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Michigan City (Michigan City, IN)
Game Summary
Bremen Girls softball team beat Knox at Pfeiffer Field on Wednesday in a rain shortened game.
Knox got a HR from Frederick to start the scoring in the 1st.
The Lions responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the frame on a two-run home run by Senior Ellia Foster after Senior Jaylin Swint walked. The Lions added 6 in the 2nd. The big hit came from Senior Naomi Flores doubled, scoring Foster & Chrissy Grabowski. Senior Gretchen Willis added a single scoring Katie Moyer who doubled brining in 2 runs.
Knox added two in the 3rd and added two more in the top of the 5th.
The Lions picked up their 10th run after Senior Mimi Duran drew a lead-off walk, advanced to 3rd, & scored on a sac fly by Moyer. Senior Nasya Zavala drew a walk, & made several outstanding defensive plays at 1B.
