Michigan High School Softball - Portage Central nudges Byron Center
May 18, 2024: Byron Center, MI 49315 Portage Central Mustangs (Portage, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Byron Center Bulldogs (Byron Center, MI), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Mustangs now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Portage Northern for a Southwestern Michigan - West challenge on Monday, May 20.
With the loss, Byron Center falls to 19-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Northview (Grand Rapids, MI) to battle the Wildcats in a Ottawa-Kent - White challenge on Monday, May 20. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 17-14. Northview won 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against West Ottawa (Holland, MI)
