May 2, 2022: Forreston, IL 61030 The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL) and the host Forreston Cardinals (Forreston, IL), saw Sterling's softball squad nip Forreston by a count of 4-1.
The Golden Warriors now sport a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they host Geneseo for a Western Big 6 match on Tuesday, May 3. Sterling will face a Maple Leafs squad coming off a 6-5 non-league win over Sherrard (Sherrard, IL). The Maple Leafs record now stands at 12-11.
With the loss, Forreston falls to 12-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Milledgeville (Milledgeville, IL) to face the Missiles in a NUIC East match on Tuesday, May 3. The Missiles enter the match with a record of 3-13. Milledgeville lost 7-4 in their recent non-league match against West Carroll (Savanna, IL)
