Illinois High School Softball - Olympia bounces Normal University
May 2, 2022: Normal, IL 61761 Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), 17-4 in a non-league challenge.
The Spartans now sport a 19-3 record. They take the field next when they host Bloomington for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 4. Olympia will face a Purple Raiders squad coming off a 5-2 league win over Danville (Danville, IL). The Purple Raiders record now stands at 16-4.
With the loss, Normal University falls to 11-13 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Springfield (Springfield, IL) to face the Senators in a Central State Eight challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Senators enter the challenge with a record of 10-8. Springfield won 7-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Taylorville (Taylorville, IL)
