Ohio High School Baseball - Clay held off by Northwest
May 2, 2025: Portsmouth, OH 45662 Northwest Mohawks (McDermott, OH) followers left the game pleased Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Clay Panthers (Portsmouth, OH), 7-5 in a non-league match.
With the triumph, Northwest moves its record to 10-4 on the season. The Mohawks host Eastern (Beaver, OH) to battle the Eagles in a Southern Ohio II match on Monday, May 5. The Eagles come into the match with a record of 2-10. Eastern won 17-1 in their recent non-league match against Glenwood (New Boston, OH)
The Panthers now possess a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Joseph Central for a Southern Ohio I match on Monday, May 5. Clay will battle a Flyers squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to Green (Franklin Furnace, OH). The Flyers record now stands at 1-6.
