Doherty Spartans (Colorado Springs, CO) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Discovery Canyon Thunder (Colorado Springs, CO), 8-4 in a league test.

With the win, Doherty upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Spartans travel to Coronado (Colorado Springs, CO) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league game on Friday, May 21. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 2-1. Coronado won 11-0 in their recent league game against Palmer (Colorado Springs, CO)

The Thunder (2-4) will now prepare for their game against Air Academy (US Air Force Academy, CO). The Kadets go into the 4A Pikes Peak game with a 5-1 record. In their last game, Air Academy tipped Liberty (Colorado Springs, CO), 13-6, in a league game.
