Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish (Kankakee, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Fightin' Irish now own a 25-7 record. They take the field next when they host Coal City for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 25. Bishop McNamara will face a Coalers squad coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Chicago Christian (Palos Heights, IL). The Coalers record now stands at 14-15.

With the loss, Herscher falls to 21-8 on the campaign.
