In Thursday's non-league game, the host Lowell Red Devils baseball team scored a nice 12-4 win over the Hammond Morton Governors.

The Red Devils (9-15) will now prepare for their game against North Newton (Morocco, IN). The Spartans go into the non-league game with a 10-14 record. In their last game, North Newton knocked off South Newton (Kentland, IN), 5-3, in a league game.

Next, the Governors play the Andrean Fighting 59ers (Merrillville, IN) in a non-league game, on Friday, May 23. Hammond Morton will attempt to improve on its 11-14 season record. The Fighting 59ers go into the game with a 24-2 record after their 11-5 league win over Hanover Central (Cedar Lake, IN).
