Massachusetts High School Softball - Central Catholic nudges Peabody Veterans Memorial
May 24, 2024: Lawrence, MA 01841 Central Catholic Raiders (Lawrence, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners (Peabody, MA), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Raiders now own a 15-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Haverhill for a Merrimack Valley - Conf 1 challenge on Monday, May 27. Central Catholic will face a Hillies squad coming off a 10-2 non-league loss to Pentucket Regional (West Newbury, MA). The Hillies record now stands at 7-12.
With the loss, Peabody Veterans Memorial falls to 13-3 on the campaign. The Tanners travel to Masconomet Regional (Boxford, MA) to face the Chieftains in a non-league challenge on Sunday, May 26. The Chieftains enter the challenge with a record of 5-6.
