Iowa High School Softball - Akron-Westfield bounces Alta-Aurelia
May 25, 2024: Akron, IA 51001 Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Alta-Aurelia Warriors (Alta, IA), 17-3 in a non-league challenge.
The Westerners now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Sioux for a War Eagle challenge on Tuesday, May 28. Akron-Westfield will face a Falcons squad coming off a 13-10 non-league loss to Cherokee Washington (Cherokee, IA). The Falcons record now stands at 0-5.
With the loss, Alta-Aurelia falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Warriors host Glidden-Ralston (Glidden, IA) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 28. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Glidden-Ralston lost 9-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (Guthrie Center, IA)
