Kansas High School Softball - Washburn Rural holds off Derby
May 27, 2022: Derby, KS 67037 Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Derby Panthers (Derby, KS), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Blues now own a 17-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Topeka for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 27. Washburn Rural will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 6-0 non-league win over Olathe North (Olathe, KS). The Trojans record now stands at 16-2.
With the loss, Derby falls to 17-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Northwest (Wichita, KS) to battle the Grizzlies in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 27. The Grizzlies enter the challenge with a record of 13-5. Northwest won 1-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Shawnee Mission North (Shawnee Mission, KS)
