Illinois High School Baseball - Marquette holds off Putnam County
May 29, 2021: Ottawa, IL 61350 Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Putnam County Panthers (Granville, IL), 6-2 in a league test.
With the win, Marquette upgrades its record to 10-2 on the season. The Crusaders host Woodland (Streator, IL) to battle the Warriors in a Tri-County test on Tuesday, June 1. The Warriors come into the test with a record of 1-10. Woodland lost 16-3 in their recent non-league test against Eureka (Eureka, IL)
With the defeat, Putnam County falls to 14-5 on the season. The Panthers host Henry-Senachwine (Henry, IL) to battle the Mallards in a Tri-County test on Tuesday, June 1. The Mallards come into the test with a record of 10-5. Henry-Senachwine won 12-1 in their recent league test against Midland (Varna, IL)
