New Jersey High School Baseball - Verona sneaks past New Providence
May 29, 2025: New Providence, NJ 07924 The crowd at Thursday's non-league battle between the Verona Hillbillies (Verona, NJ) and the host New Providence Pioneers (New Providence, NJ), saw Verona's baseball team get by New Providence by a margin of 1-0.
The Hillbillies (17-6) will now prepare for their battle against Hanover Park (East Hanover, NJ). The Hornets enter the non-league battle with a 13-10 record. In their last battle, Hanover Park held off Wood-Ridge (Wood-Ridge, NJ), 15-5, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Pioneers face the Ridge Red Devil (Basking Ridge, NJ) in a non-league battle, on Friday, June 6. New Providence will attempt to improve on its 4-17 season record.
