Illinois High School Softball - Winnebago bounces Byron
May 3, 2021: Byron, IL 61010 Winnebago Indians (Winnebago, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Byron Tigers (Byron, IL), 9-4 in a league challenge.
The Indians now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oregon for a Big Northern challenge on Tuesday, May 4. Winnebago will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 2-0 league win over North Boone (Poplar Grove, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 5-3.
With the loss, Byron moves to 1-3 on the season. The Tigers travel to Mendota (Mendota, IL) to face the Trojans in a Big Northern match on Tuesday, May 4. The Trojans go into the match with a record of 1-1. Mendota won 8-6 in their recent league match against Dixon (Dixon, IL)
