Virginia High School Baseball - Altavista defeats Dan River
May 3, 2024: Ringgold, VA 24586 Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA), 9-2 in a league test.
With the win, Altavista upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Colonels host Gretna (Gretna, VA) to battle the Hawks in a Dogwood test on Wednesday, May 8. The Hawks come into the test with a record of 4-12. Gretna lost 5-0 in their recent league test against Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA)
With the defeat, Dan River falls to 4-10 on the season. The Wildcats host Martinsville (Martinsville, VA) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league test on Monday, May 6. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 2-15. Martinsville lost 22-2 in their recent league test against Halifax County (South Boston, VA)
