May 3, 2025: Waterford, CT 06385 The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Waterford Lancers (Waterford, CT) and the visiting Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT), observed Waterford's softball team get by Newtown by a final score of 5-2.
The Lancers (12-1) will now prepare for their bout against Westerly (Westerly, RI). The Bulldogs go into the non-league bout with a 7-7 record. In their last bout, Westerly tipped South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI), 16-2, in a non-league bout.
In their next game, the Nighthawks encounter the Brookfield Bobcats (Brookfield, CT) in a Southwest - Colonial outing, on Monday, May 5. Newtown will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Bobcats come into the outing with a 11-2 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Norwich Free Academy (Norwich, CT).
