Armstrong River Hawks (Kittanning, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Thomas Jefferson Jaguars (Jefferson Hills, PA), 9-3 in a non-league challenge.

The River Hawks now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Greater Latrobe for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 3.

With the loss, Thomas Jefferson falls to 6-3 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Solanco (Quarryville, PA) to battle the Golden Mules in a non-league challenge on Monday, June 3. The Golden Mules enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Solanco lost 8-4 in their recent non-league challenge against South Western (Hanover, PA)
