Iowa High School Softball - Mt. Vernon bounces Lisbon
May 31, 2024: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) and the visiting Lisbon Lions (Lisbon, IA), witnessed Mt. Vernon's softball squad tip Lisbon by a count of 7-1.
The Mustangs now sport a 8-1 record. They play next when they host Oskaloosa for a non-league match on Saturday, June 1. Mt. Vernon will face a Indians squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Norwalk (Norwalk, IA). The Indians record now stands at 3-3.
With the loss, Lisbon moves to 6-3 on the season. The Lions travel to Springville (Springville, IA) to face the Orioles in a non-league match on Monday, June 3.
