Kentucky High School Softball - Somerset bounces Russell County
May 4, 2021: Somerset, KY 42501 Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY), 12-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Briar Jumpers now sport a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Woodford County for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 7. Somerset will face a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Madison Southern (Berea, KY). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 14-6.
With the loss, Russell County falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Lakers travel to Southwestern (Somerset, KY) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 7. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 3-5. Southwestern lost 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Pulaski County (Somerset, KY)
