The Avon Falcons (Avon, CT) softball nipped the host Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT), 2-1 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Falcons (6-3) will now prepare for their bout against Hartford Public (Hartford, CT). The Owls go into the non-league bout with a 2-7 record. In their last bout, Hartford Public held off Bulkeley (Hartford, CT), 19-0, in a non-league bout.
