May 5, 2022: Santa Ana, CA 92707 The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Esperanza Aztecs (Anaheim, CA) and the host Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA), saw Esperanza's softball squad nip Mater Dei by a count of 8-3.
The Aztecs now sport a 19-11 record. They take the field next when they host Camarillo for a non-league match on Tuesday, May 10. Esperanza will face a Scorpions squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Downey (Downey, CA). The Scorpions record now stands at 23-3.
The Monarchs now possess a 17-10 record.
