Western Panthers (Russiaville, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Fairfield Falcons (Goshen, IN), 12-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 18-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mishawaka for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 5. Western will battle a Cavemen squad coming off a 9-2 league win over Plymouth (Plymouth, IN). The Cavemen record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Fairfield falls to 12-6 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Niles (Niles, MI) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Niles lost 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Vicksburg (Vicksburg, MI)
