In Saturday's non-league contest, the Franklin County Wildcats (Brookville, IN) softball team the host New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN), by a margin of 8-5.

With the triumph, Franklin County moves its record to 14-7 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Lawrenceburg (Lawrenceburg, IN) to play the Tigers in a Eastern Indiana contest on Monday, May 8. The Tigers come into the contest with a record of 6-11. Lawrenceburg lost 8-2 in their recent non-league contest against Hauser (Hope, IN)

In their next game, the Trojans play the Jay County Patriots (Portland, IN) in a non-league contest, on Monday, May 8. New Castle will attempt to move on its 5-11 season record. The Patriots come into the contest with a 15-3 record after their 16-8 non-league loss to Greenfield-Central (Greenfield, IN).
