Maine High School Softball - Dirigo bounces Gray-New Gloucester
May 6, 2024: Dixfield, ME 04224 Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Dirigo Cougars (Dixfield, ME) and the visiting Gray-New Gloucester Patriots (Gray, ME), witnessed Dirigo's softball squad prevail over Gray-New Gloucester by a count of 14-3.
The Cougars now sport a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to Madison for a Class C South match on Tuesday, May 7. Dirigo will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 12-5 league win over Lisbon (Lisbon Falls, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-4.
With the loss, Gray-New Gloucester moves to 0-7 on the season. The Patriots travel to Poland (Poland, ME) to face the Knights in a Class B South match on Wednesday, May 8. The Knights go into the match with a record of 3-4. Poland lost 3-2 in their recent non-league match against Lewiston (Lewiston, ME)
