In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Lawrence Central Bears softball team scored a tight 1-0 win over the New Castle Trojans.

The Bears (4-13) will now prepare for their match against Franklin Central (Indianapolis, IN). The Flashes come into the non-league match with a 11-7 record. In their last match, Franklin Central nipped Ben Davis (Indianapolis, IN), 15-0, in a non-league match.
