The Shawnee Indians triumphed over the visiting Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds softball squad by a count of 8-2 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Indians play the Defiance Bulldogs (Defiance, OH) in a Western Buckeye challenge, on Friday, May 9. Shawnee will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 14-9 record after their 5-2 non-league win over Liberty-Benton (Findlay, OH).

The Thunderbirds (5-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Hardin Northern (Dola, OH). The Polar Bears enter the non-league challenge with a 14-4 record. In their last challenge, Hardin Northern edged Bluffton (Bluffton, OH), 6-2, in a non-league challenge.
