Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) followers left the game satisfied Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Newark Norsemen (Newark, IL), 15-5 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Coal City moves its record to 19-7 on the season. The Coalers host Reed-Custer (Braidwood, IL) to confront the Comets in a Illinois Central Eight match on Monday, May 11. The Comets come into the match with a record of 5-19. Reed-Custer lost 17-5 in their recent non-league match against Galesburg (Galesburg, IL)

The Norsemen now possess a 8-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Plano for a non-league match on Friday, May 8. Newark will confront a Reapers squad coming off a 14-4 league loss to Richmond-Burton (Richmond, IL). The Reapers record now stands at 8-15.
