Virginia High School Soccer - Hickory Maury
May 8, 2023: Chesapeake, VA 23322 Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Maury Commodores (Norfolk, VA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Hawks confront the Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA) in a Southeastern challenge, on Tuesday, May 9. Hickory will attempt to better on its 11-0 season record. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 4-1 league loss to Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA).
The Commodores now have a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Booker T. Washington for a Eastern challenge on Wednesday, May 10. Maury will confront a Mighty Bookers team coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Phoebus (Hampton, VA). The Mighty Bookers record now stands at 2-11.
