New Jersey High School Softball - Summit holds off Delaware Valley
May 8, 2024: Frenchtown, NJ 08825 Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Summit Hilltoppers (Summit, NJ) and the host Delaware Valley Terriers (Frenchtown, NJ), witnessed Summit's softball squad tip Delaware Valley by a count of 5-3.
The Hilltoppers now sport a 10-10 record. They play next when they host Scotch Plains-Fanwood for a UCC - Mountain match on Saturday, May 11. Summit will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 9-0 non-league win over Glen Ridge (Glen Ridge, NJ). The Raiders record now stands at 12-6.
With the loss, Delaware Valley moves to 10-5 on the season. The Terriers host North Hunterdon (Annandale, NJ) to meet the Lions in a non-league match on Thursday, May 9. The Lions go into the match with a record of 12-9. North Hunterdon lost 7-4 in their recent league match against Hunterdon Central (Flemington, NJ)
