Illinois High School Softball - Shepard bounces Thornton Fractional North
May 8, 2025: Calumet City, IL 60409 The Shepard Astros softball team scored 17 runs and held the host Thornton Fractional North Meteors to 0 in the Astros league win on Thursday.
The Astros now possess a 22-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lyons for a non-league battle on Saturday, May 10. Shepard will confront a Lions team coming off a 8-3 non-league loss to Sandburg (Orland Park, IL). The Lions record now stands at 7-13.
With the loss, Thornton Fractional North moves to 3-18 on the season. The Meteors travel to Oak Lawn (Oak Lawn, IL) to confront the Spartans in a South Suburban battle on Monday, May 12. The Spartans come into the battle with a record of 13-12. Oak Lawn lost 8-4 in their recent non-league battle against Hinsdale Central (Hinsdale, IL)
